Gail S. Page – Managing Director

In October of 2018, Ms Page joined Turret Capital as a Venture Partner where she will be working to leverage her years of experience in the Diagnostics and Clinical Laboratory sectors. Her work will focus on identifying technologies and companies that are key to the mission of Turret Funds. This will dovetail with her earlier work at Vineyard Investment Advisors, (2013-2018) which focused on partnering with entrepreneurs, businesses, and universities to transform their ideas into products and services. In addition she will serve as an Investment Advisor to Solas Bio Ventures of Chattanooga Tennessee. Prior to this venture, Ms. Page served as the President / CEO of Vermillion, Inc. from Jan 2004 thru December 2012. She was a member of the board from 2006 thru 2012 and served as Chairperson from 2010-2011. Vermillion is a healthcare company focused on developing and commercializing novel multiproteomic/MAAA blood test. Upon joining Vermillion in 2004 she inspired a pioneering spirit. Under her leadership the company was repositioned to embrace the progressive nature of its pipeline, successfully raised over $100M in funding, developed and commercially launched the first FDA-cleared blood test to help diagnose ovarian cancer by engaging Quest Diagnostics as an equity and commercial partner. Ms. Page has spent her entire career in health care and has a passion for emerging technologies that advance the efforts in personalized medicine.
Her current board appointments include Sword Diagnostics, Inc. and NxPrenatal, Inc. where she serves as Executive Chair. From July 2017 thru July 2020, she served on the Chembio (CEMI NASDAQ) board and was Chair of the Compensation Committee and a member of the Audit Committee and Governance Committee. In January 2020, she served as the Interim CEO of Chembio successfully creating a pivot and lead a $30M capital raise. Most recently, she was appointed to the Advisory Board of Fem Tec Health, which is focussed on Women’s Health and Wellness.
Ms. Page is a member of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry, Women @ Austin, Association of Corporate Growth (Board Member 2016-2017), the National Association of Corporate Directors (Advisory Board Member), Dell Medical Society and The Texas Business Leadership Council. In August of 2018, she was appointed as the Chief Business Advisor for the Dell Medical School Catalyst/UT Board. In addition, she is a guest lecturer at UT and TCU within the MBA program.
During 2014-2015 she served on the Advisory Board for the Center for Professional Development and Entrepreneurialism at MD Anderson. In 2010 Ms. Page was recognized by Forbes Woman and Business Week for her work in the healthcare sector. Ms. Page was a top ten finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in central Texas 2012 and was recognized as one of the top 20 business leaders in the Austin area. In 2014 Ms. Page was named by the Austin Business Journal as a “Woman of Influence and Power” in Central Texas. From 2014-2018 she served as the co-founder and Chair of Consortia Health. In the year’s preceding Vermillion, Ms. Page served on the Executive Managment team at Laboratory Corporation of America from 1988-2000 and in various executive management roles with the following companies: Luminex (COO), American Monitor Corporation and within academia( UF/Shands Teaching Hospital).
Ms. Page earned her degrees from Santa Fe Community College and the University of Florida. In 2003 she completed an executive management program at the Kellogg School in Chicago.
Ms Page has one daughter, Madison Page. Both she and her daughter are active in the community and are long time patrons for The St David’s Foundation, The Center for Child Protection and CureDuchenne. In 2013 and 2015, Ms. Page participated as a judge and contributor in the “Philanthropitch” event which supports the non-profit sector of the Austin community. Gail served as a mentor for the “Women and Wine” event at the UT McCombs School as well as the Mentoring Monday event held by the Austin Business Journal (2014 – 2020). In 2014 she served as a judge for the Austin Business Journals, CEO of the Year award. In 2015, Ms. Page served as a judge for the central Texas Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and in 2015 -2020 for the Chamber of Commerce “A-List of the Hottest Start-up Awards”. Most recently she participated as a judge for the Austin Business Journal’s “Woman of Power and Influence” 2015.
In 2015-2016 Ms. Page served on the executive leadership team supporting the Go Red for Women events hosted by the American Heart Association and was a guest speaker for the “Women in Business Leadership Conference” as well as the “Women at the Table” event sponsored by the McCombs School of Business Graduate Women in Business. During the pandemic, Ms. Page has conducted several fireside chats with emerging funds to encourage the entrepreneurial community. Each year she continues to participate in events within the industry as a guest speaker and mentor.

Kimon Angelides is the founder of four healthcare companies: Vivante, EsoHealth which became Livongo and debuted in July 2019 with a $355M IPO at a $4.4B valuation, DiabetesAmerica, a network of diabetes centers that pioneered bundled payment models, and mAbGen, a cancer biotech company that partnered with world-renowned MDAnderson Cancer Center and was acquired by Valeant Pharmaceuticals.
Kimon recently received the digital health Founder of the Year Award from Rock Health, Goldman Sachs, and PacWest Bank for his contributions and work in digital medicine. Kimon’s newest company, Vivante Health, was created in early 2016 to tackle the needs of people who have invisible and stigmatized diseases, starting with digestive health and are those who have fallen through the cracks in the healthcare system. The company takes a multidisciplinary approach using digital therapeutics, diagnostics and discovery medicine, devices, and predictive analytics, all taken to enhance outcomes.
Prior to his healthcare career, Kimon was Director of Strategic Development at St Luke’s/Texas Heart Institute, Professor and Chair of Cell Biology and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Durham in the UK building the pre-clinical services for the new medical school, Professor of Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biophysics at Baylor College of Medicine, and Associate and Assistant Professor at the University of Florida and McGill University. Kimon has served on the National Medical Advisory Boards of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the National Institutes of Health. Kimon was Research Career Development Award from the NIH, a Mombusho Scholar of Japan, Distinguished Professor at INSERM/Centre National de Recherche Scientifique of France, and a Basil O’Connor Scholar from the March of Dimes Birth Defect Foundation. He has published over 100 papers and holds more than 40 patents. He received a PhD in Chemistry from the University of California and has done graduate study in business, laws, and public health.
